How Solon (solon.digital) differentiates from Ethereum, Solana, Robinhood Chain and the leading RWA chains.
Disclosure: Chainfir Capital has made a strategic investment in solon.digital. This report is compiled from public on-chain data and official site information; beyond this page, every conclusion can be independently verified via the compliance console, status page and explorer.
On-chain real-world assets total roughly $30.8B, up more than 5× in two years; institutions project $10–16 trillion by 2030. BlackRock, Franklin Templeton and Apollo are all in; stablecoins (~$300B) have already proven the "fiat RWA" path at scale.
Ethereum and Solana rely on application-layer add-ons for whitelisting and KYC; Robinhood Chain locks compliance inside its own closed ecosystem. Solon is one of very few EVM chains that builds securities-grade compliance (whitelist / freeze / forced transfer) directly into the protocol layer, already verified on-chain.
No bridges, no external sequencers — RWA assets are issued and settled natively, with 1-second blocks that are final on arrival. Compared with L2s (Robinhood Chain withdrawals to Ethereum take 7 days; bridges are the industry's largest attack surface, with $2.5B+ exploited), this structurally removes the two risks securities assets fear most.
Issuance platform (3-step token launch), regulated-token contracts, web wallet, explorer, DEX, limit order book (atomic DvP), lending, insurance, dividend distribution, governance console and compliance console (Travel Rule / stamp duty / regulatory reports) — one chain covering the full "issue → comply → trade → report" pipeline.
Solon is an independent Layer-1 EVM chain designed for issuing and circulating real-world assets. The project is named after Solon of Athens, who in 594 BC issued the Seisachtheia — the "shaking-off of burdens" — and abolished debt bondage: the belief that "debt is a tool, not shackles" is written into the code. Testnet went live October 10, 2026 (dual validator nodes in Singapore + Seoul).
| Scenario | On-chain result |
|---|---|
| Whitelisted transfer | Both parties KYC-registered → transfer succeeds |
| Non-whitelisted recipient | Recipient not registered → transfer rejected by the contract itself (revert) |
| Compliance freeze | Frozen account rejects all transfers; auto-restored on unfreeze |
| Forced transfer / emergency halt | Court-order forced transfers and a chain-wide emergency pause are both implemented |
Source: solon.digital on-site "deployed regulated contracts" test records (2026-10-10, Singapore node). These capabilities are the minimal complete set for a "controlled security" to run on-chain: know who holds it (KYC whitelist), freeze violating assets, execute judicial orders.
RWA means treasuries, equities, private credit, gold and real estate issued and circulated on-chain as regulated tokens — the main corridor where TradFi and DeFi converge, growing faster than everything except stablecoins over the past two years. Assets aren't the bottleneck; compliance infrastructure is. Whoever turns "securities-grade compliance + on-chain circulation" into an out-of-the-box base capability owns the gateway for trillions in assets.

Positioning: the "New York" of institutional trust and liquidity — but built for general computation, compliance is modular add-on territory.
Strengths: deepest institutional trust, the most complete custody and compliance tooling (Securitize, ERC-3643, BlackRock BUIDL); unmatched DeFi liquidity and composability.
Gaps: ① No native compliance — whitelisting, freezing, forced transfer all self-assembled at the app layer, siloed; ② Probabilistic finality — ~12s blocks plus minutes-level confirmation, reorgs possible; ③ Gas cost locks out high-frequency, small-ticket bonds/receivables; ④ Compliance checks burn extra gas, rough for small issuers.
Positioning: crushes Ethereum on speed and fees; active tokenized-stock trading, but compliance and tooling are a separate ecosystem.
Strengths: sub-second confirmation, fees under $0.01; ~$5.8B quarterly tokenized-stock DEX volume in 2026 Q2 (~95% of global on-chain stock trading); xStocks, BUIDL, PYUSD ecosystems active; Western Union integrated.
Gaps: ① Not EVM — Rust toolchain friction, costly for TradFi teams; ② Repeated full-network outages — institutions want "never stops"; ③ Compliance is app-layer add-on; ④ Securities share a validator set with memes, weak regulatory narrative.
Positioning: a broker's own tokenized-stock chain (Arbitrum-stack L2), compliance controlled inside a closed ecosystem.
Strengths: ~28M users and tokenized stocks in 120+ countries; 100ms blocks; ~$1.03B TVL within 3 months of mainnet, >$1.2B cumulative DEX volume — proving real demand for "brokers building their own chain".
Gaps: ① L2 cross-chain certificate — 7-day withdrawals, bridge + sequencer are standard attack surfaces; ② No self-owned compliance layer; ③ Ultimately one company's private infrastructure — securities tokens issued solely by Robinhood Assets (Jersey), hard for third parties to enter on equal terms; ④ US users can't even use it.
Positioning: the first RWA-specific L1: Arc tokenization engine + Nexus data layer + Passport compliance wallet.
Strengths: backed by Apollo, YZi Labs (ex-Binance Labs); 259K holders and $645M on-chain within a year — successful lane positioning.
Solon's differentiation: ① Compliance depth — Plume does it at the engine/wallet layer, Solon does it in protocol-layer regulated contracts, publicly verified on-chain; ② Native full financial stack — order book (atomic DvP), DEX, lending, insurance, dividends, primary subscription all built in; ③ Regulatory workflow — the compliance console ships Travel Rule, stamp duty and regulatory report export; ④ Sharper focus — bonds, credit, receivables (the #1 RWA category), fully aligned with the Solon "shaking-off of burdens" brand narrative.
Others: Stellar (7.3%, Franklin Templeton partner), Avalanche (3.0%, subnet model), Ondo Chain (permissioned), BNB Chain (11.2%, CeFi-dependent) — all follow either "general chain + app-layer compliance" or "single-institution permissioned chain"; none combines "open issuance + protocol-level compliance + native financial stack".

Scored across the six dimensions RWA issuers care about most (5-point scale, based on public facts).
| Dimension | Solon | Ethereum | Solana | Robinhood | Plume |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Protocol-level completeness | 5 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 4 |
| Settlement determinism | 5 | 3 | 4 | 4 | 3 |
| Asset sovereignty | 5 | 4 | 4 | 1 | 4 |
| Issue→trade→report full stack | 5 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
| Ecosystem & liquidity | 1 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 3 |
| Institutional adoption | 2 | 5 | 4 | 4 | 4 |
Scoring note: Solon leads across all four structural dimensions directly tied to securities assets; it is objectively early on "ecosystem/liquidity" and "institutional endorsement" — the unavoidable stage every new chain passes through, and precisely the entry-pricing window.
Whitelist (KYC), freeze, forced transfer and emergency pause live in protocol-layer regulated contracts; rejection tests were completed on deployment day. Issuers launch compliant tokens via a 3-step wizard. Contrast: issuers on Ethereum / Solana must hire lawyers + auditors + contract engineers to assemble the same capabilities — siloed each time.
No cross-chain bridges (the industry's biggest attack surface, $2.5B+ exploited), no external sequencers — compliance rules co-controlled by issuers and the chain. Robinhood Chain is the counter-proof that even brokers want "their own chain" for asset sovereignty; Solon opens that capability to all issuers.
Clique PoA final-on-arrival (1–2s confirmation, zero reorgs) — meeting the institutional bar of "want determinism, not probability" for securities settlement; testnet measured ≈1,400 TPS plain-transfer throughput, headroom for high-frequency small-ticket bond flows.
Limit order book (custodial listings + atomic DvP), AMM DEX, on-chain lending (5% APY on SLN, borrow up to 50% against stock tokens), on-chain insurance, dividend pool, primary subscription engine (GLD gold shares in first subscription), tokenized stocks (NVDA / AAPL / TSLA / MSFT, 24/7 with dividends) — from "asset on-chain" straight to "asset usable".
The compliance console provides on-chain identity lookup, rule-engine verification, regulatory CSV report export, Travel Rule and stamp-duty workflows; the governance console's claim review, compliance freezes, issuance and dividends leave a full on-chain audit trail — issuers can show regulators evidence, not promises.
EVM London bytecode compatibility — MetaMask / ethers / Hardhat plug and play; 1 Gwei gas pricing friendly to small and mid issuers; free testnet faucet, complete an issuance drill the same day.
Listed honestly so this report can survive scrutiny — they are also the pricing basis for early entry.
Industry consensus is forming: general chains answer "can it go on-chain"; purpose-built compliant chains answer "does it dare go on-chain". Ethereum wins custody and trust; Solana wins trading speed; Robinhood proves brokers want sovereign chains but keeps it in-house; Plume validated the RWA-chain path from 0 to $645M in a year. On this proven lane, Solon offers the most thorough protocol-level compliance design and the most complete issue-trade-report stack on the market, precisely positioned on debt assets — RWA's largest category.
Every on-chain claim in this report requires no trust in us — open these entry points and verify independently.
